Operation Christmas Child
St Joseph's once again supported the Operation Christmas Child Charity which is the world's largest children's Christmas project.   Decorated shoeboxes filled with gifts of toys, stationery and cosmetics were sent to needy children overseas.  Thank you to all who supported this worthwhile scheme.

Harvest Celebration - Thank you

Many parents joined Class 2S who led an assembly to celebrate Harvest.
Our pupils wore "bright colours" to support CAFOD for a donation of £1.
A big thank you to all those parents who donated dried foods for the Vineyard Church to help homeless people in the community.

We raised over £125 for CAFOD.
  Well done to all concerned.

  Macmillan Cake Sale

A big thank you to everyone who supported the Cake Sale, especially those who donated such wonderful cakes and helped on the day.
We raised over £400.  Well done.

We have recently been awarded the Youth Sport Trust Silver Quality Mark Award.
The Silver Quality Mark has been awarded to St Joseph's by the Youth Sport Trust for our participation in a number of clubs, sports and activities.
This Silver Award reflects our efforts in using PE and school sport to raise achievement across the school by working towards our whole school Vision for PE and Sports.  Our Year 2 Play Leaders proudly accepted our Award from Mrs Fox.

12th Aylesbury Brownies meet in school each week.  The leaders have prepared and fertlised the bed outside Class 2S and the group have donated plants to enhance our school environment.  The girls will maintain this and some other areas as part of their community support.
Thank you for helping us to improve our school grounds.
British Legion Poppy Appeal
During November Year 2 ran a shop selling many British Legion Poppy Appeal items including friendship bracelets, wristbands and pencils as well as the usual Poppy.
We are pleased to report that this shop raised over £200 for the British Legion cause to support the money already raised from donations for poppies.
Well done Year 2

Walk to School
October is Walk to School month and we are encouraging everyone to put on their walking shoes and walk to school, from school or all the parts in between!
The children received a visit from ALLF (Always Look and Listen First), the Walk to School mascot. ALLF met the children and gave them walk to school stickers.
